Demolished walls, universal exhibitions and a modern city
- Duration: 2 h 20 min

About the route
In the 19th century Barcelona broke down the walls that were suffocating it and became a modern industrial city. Arcaded squares, promenades, cast-iron fountains and a great park on the site of a former fortress were born.
From the Columbus Monument to Plaça Reial, this route explains how the city reinvented itself and presented itself to the world at the 1888 Universal Exhibition.
